The warmth of the rising sun along with the flames within created a blazing passion.
Oblivious to the surroundings, they clinged on to each other, tasting, feeling and trying to take in everything.
The salt in the air merged with the sweetness of the moment. Waves calmed down and time stood still.
“You will be my most cherished memory,” she murmured into his heart.
“I will remember you, this and the joy, till the day I die.”
“You,” he said, “will be my worst pain.”
“You will be with someone else.”
“Who will push the lone strand behind your ear, with whom you will laugh, joke, scream and touch?”
“I will never be able to breathe the air you will, can never walk with your hand in mine.”
“Nor will you be with me in my loneliest moment when I am bound to be with someone else.”
“But I am neither angry nor jealous. I only pity.”
“Unknowingly they share our sorrow, anguish and a lifetime of bereavement.”
“Will this be an end to us?” He asked
“No, this is a detour. We will go back to where we were before and start from there.”
“Yes,” he said. “Yes.”
But, can it ever be the same?
The curious me wondered.
