Two Poems

Painting: Martin Ridley
By Ananya Guha
Where Did You Go?
where did you go this summer
only flapping of wings
signaled departure
awaiting arrival is cataclysm
if you don’t arrive, then only
the high winds of the seas
will roar and the flapping
of wings berating the soul
will continue, ominously
but when you do ( arrive)
my tonsured head will
be a prayer in hope, living,
giving, while the sea waves
continue to roar, in a brief
schism of my heart.

Tremulously
Tremulously I hope
that these hills will overlook
my sorrows, my angst,
tremulously I touch wanton
hopes of forgiveness
that these hills understand
tremulously these hills
move away from anger
to angst
and tremulously I hold my
lips to them, like a lover
frantically digging bowels
of earth.

One Response to “Two Poems”
The poems are wonderful in their lucidity.
