The final fiasco in JNU saw a number of remarkable get-togethers. Hapless inheritors and parliamentary communists were in attendance. The second variety in particular is not exactly emblematic of freedom of thought. Higher education in West Bengal, during the communist regime, was hammered and sickled to mediocrity in the name of countering elitism.

The prison authorities are giving us good food but the other prisoners are being given very bad food. The prisoners are working for us like wage labourers. We are exempted from any work as we are the political prisoners. But later we told them that we ourselves can do the work of sweeping and cleaning. In the garb of charging Kanhaiya Kumar with sedition and criminal conspiracy, the BJP is openly waging a war over our universities. A war, which had started in its first tenure in 1998. It’s BJP’s war to secure our universities as bastions of upper caste Hindu values. ‘Anti-national’ is merely a proxy term in this war.

We, the students of University of Hyderabad and the undersigned are enraged by this atrocious decision and appeal to you to intervene in this matter and take action on all the University of Hyderabad officials for succumbing to the pressures from BJP and the BJP ministers whoforced the University of Hyderabad administration to implement the suspension and social boycott of the five Dalit research scholars without any enquiry and helped the ABVP President file the false case.
