जहाँ गाजर
जहाँ गाजर और गोभी
और जहाज़ों का रेत और आवाज़ पे
उतारा जाना
जहाँ उन्होंने तबसरा किया कि
रंग हमेशा हरा था, किसी वजह से, और
मशरूम कभी खोजे नहीं मिले
जहाँ शीरा थी शाम
खो चुके थे हम
माचिस की तीलियाँ
थी कुछ ऐसी वह जगह
जहाँ पर वह आ पहुंचे
और था मालूम हमें
बहरहाल कि इसी जगह
जाएंगे दफनाए उनके
पंख और हड्डियां
जब दुनिया को चलेगा

वह जानते हैं
वह जानते हैं गोह और
हीरों को
वह जानते हैं पोस्सुम सरीखी त्वचा
जैसी
पोशाक पहनने वाली
समितियों के विधान
वे जानते हैं कैसे चलना है राजधानियों से होते हुए तट से तट
वे जानते हैं कि मोटे तौर पर लहरें कहाँ आती हैं।
वे जानते हैं पंख, संदेश और मोती के सीप
और द्वीपों से उत्तर में होता है प्रेम विवाह खुद को रेशम से घेरे हुए.
वे कहीं ज्यादा जानते हैं, और, हम बतियाते हैं
कानून के सामने खुलते हुए
जानते हुए कि हल्का होता है
बर्फ नमक से

जमात से
जमात से जमात तक
हमारी एड़ियों तले उजाला
भीतर एक, जानवर।
वे जैराह के वृक्ष में दीमक ढूंढते हैं और गुस्से को भूल जाते हैं।
हम पूरे वेग से दौड़ते हैं रिसते हुए वक्त में
खप्पचियों और बादाम के पीछे
आज़ादी का रस टटोलने
जानवर भय से संकुचित एक ओर
हमारे हाथों में आग
काउंसिलर से लेकर नगदी बेचने वाले तक
धधकती मज़्ज़ा

हम बने
हम बने चील का पौधा, लाल
लहराए शलजम पर
सरहानों में खिलाये फूल
जब हुई परेड जले हुए अवशेषों की
उन्होंने मांगी मेहनत और चुकंदर
हमने उन्हें शहद सौंपा, अपना नहीं,
और बदले में हम गवाह बने.

कसाई का छुरा
क्या काम कसाई के छुरे का
जब उगाना हो आलू
उन्होंने पुछा जैसे ही हमने
थामा उनका हाथ
और हुए रवाना दक्खिन को
हमने अपनी पोशाकों के बटन लगाये
उन्हें और तेज बाँधा
हमारे पोर फिर से बह निकले
इतने अधिक कि हमारे हाथ पूरी तरह लाल हो गये.

Anil Pushker is a teacher, translator and poet based out of Kolkata. He has taught Hindi literature in Presidency University. His poems have been published in many reputed Hindi journals.

I read his original poems from his website. I really appreciate the intricacies of his ideas and words pertaining to individual experiences in diverse provenances. You have done a commendable job at staking a claim in his legacy and introducing your own talents at giving them indigenous, local flavors. Yet it is all universal, this collective collaboration.
